Sociopath quotes: fitting in

Sane people did what their neighbors did, so that if any lunatics were at large, one might know and avoid them.

    4. LOL Anon everybody here isint a Sociopath. Mostly people of all personality disorders, BPD, NPD, AsPD, "Neurotypicals", and Empaths, it's like a melting pot here, but that is what makes it so cool and fascinating.

      Welcome Anon!

Anon, create an account it will be a lot easier to converse if you do. And you could introduce yourself too.

    6. LOL Mee, you dont feel the same way?

I like seeing everybodies opinions and seeing things "through their eyes" (my empathic side) to see how much I relate, or do not relate, to them no matter what PD they have.

But that is good advice about getting a "oermanent Name" it is hard reading posts from a bunch of different people who post as "Anonymous" because you never know when it is the same person.

      How are you today Mee?

      Delete
    7. SORRY I meant "Permanent name" up there! Dont crucify me!

    8. I'm okay but it's no longer day where I live.

I still haven't decided what makes this place so special... I haven't seen many bpd's here and neuritypical is not a pd, you know. Also many folks with a pd have an additional one or two so It's not easy to attach a label to people here at least you shouldn't do it :)

Rich, could you share a few things?
1.) What brought you to this place? Do you read what M.E. posts or you just come here to chat (I'm not judging, just curious)
2.) Imagine that you are flying in a plane and flight attendant informs everyone about a possibility of high turbulence. How that makes you feel? How you behave if it starts happening?
3.) Let's say that you accidentally set your microwave on fire, what do you do?

      Delete
    9. 4.) Let's say that Monica sent you a picture of herself. Next day you are walking to your drug store to take prescribed meds and you see Monica in front of you. She seems to be terrified. While you approach her, you notice that a street thug is aiming at her. He seems to be under influence and you realize that he's going to shoot her. But you can save her by dodging the bullet. If you do it the thug will run away, but you will spend few months in hospital and probably won't be able to move your legs for the rest of your life. If you won't do this, Monica dies. What would you do in this situation?
      What would you do if
a.) Thug is going to shoot another woman which you don't know (other things remain the same)
      b.) Monica is the thug.

    10. Okay Mee, this sounds fun, I will answer as honestly as I possibly can.

To number 1- What originally brought me here was having relationships with 2 women with PD's. One was a diagnosed Sociopath and the other was likely a Sociopath/Narcissist combo.... Once I came here I lurked for a bit than I began posting and I met people here that I like and figured maybe I could learn more about myself, so I stayed. And Yes, I read ME's posts, but sometimes I just come here to chat.

To number 2- Well, I have been on planes since I was very young..... My mother and father divorced when I was very young and since my mother had to work during the summer and had no money for childcare, she would send us to live with our grandparents in New York every summer, almost all summer. So I have been in this situation in real life with the turbulence and it honestly never really frightened me too badly, I dont think I was frightened at all, but then again I was very young and I experienced that more than once and I put my trust into the flight crew to know what they were doing. Flying on a plane has never scared me, and the turbulence has never scared me either (that I can remember) BUT, I have never been through any HORRIBLE turbulence, just moderate turbulence at best so that may have been why I wasnt afraid also.

To number 3- LOL! If my microwave was on fire I would probably be like HOLY SHIT, my heart would probably start pounding, and I would grab a cup, fill it with water and try to douce the flames, because my micorwave is right next to my sink pretty much, but my cabinets are all wooden, so I'd probably be more scared if they caught on fire as well.

( i will answer the next questions in the next post)

      Delete
    11. Answer to number 4- Wow, this is a hard one....... I have seen Monicas picture/pictures so I know what she looks like...... If I was in that situation it would probably have to depend on what state of mind I was in, if I was really high on xanax and methadone iam alot more fearless than when Iam not. But if I knew BEFOREHAND that I could save Monica's life (or anybodies life who I like) and would only have to spend a few months in the hospital, wounded but on my medication I would definatly save their life....... BUT, if I didnt know if I would be killed or not, it is hard to say what I would do in that moment, I guess it would depend on how I was feeling, the situation at hand, and how my fight or flight response worked.

Answer to number 4 A-Same as above, I would save anybodies life if I KNEW all I had to do was be in the hospital a few months and without life threatening injuries. But if I didnt like the person or they were a dick to me in some way I wouldnt do anything.

Answer to number 4 B- LOL again! If Monica was the thug, and since I have talked to Monica and seen her pictures and know what she looks like, I would try a different approach, I would try to calmly (as calmly as I could in that situation) talk her out of it and make her realize it wouldnt be worth it, if she needed drugs while robbing the pharmacy I would just tell her to wait and I would share mine, if she was robbing them for cash I would take the approach of saying no money in the world is worth spending 15 years to life in prison and try to talk her out of it, and since I know Monica, and she knows me, I would hope she would listen.......

Any other questions Mee? I LIKE THIS!!!!!

      :)

    16. 1.) I bet you covered it earlier, maybe you have something interesting to share? What those girls had in common?
2.) Not much to analyze here. Your weird childhood probably influenced your drug addiction. Actually, how old you were when you started it?
3.) I'd unplug it first, then start to water it down, or go out of my flat to grab a fire extinguisher. I would try to find out what caused it during the process. As for emotions I'd either start laughing and be happy because something new is happening, be pissed because I had other things to do (maybe I needed it to heat food) or stay calm and start solving the problem.
4.) So you'd put yourself at risk to save others in most cases. And what if you might die while doing it?

  2. If I set my mind on seducing a target, I will pry into their mind very intimately. I'll identify their weaknesses, secret envies, and gradually uncover their deepest, most shameful perversions, in a way that makes it appear as though I am charmingly disarming them. Then I will twist and mould these lascivious tendencies to my liking, until they conform to what I want them to be.

When I was young and promiscuous, I capitalized on this information for sexual gain. Nothing turns me on as much as corrupting the sweet, or dragging a person to new depths of depravity. This type of dynamic is intense and tends to excite people, both sexually and relationally. The lure is both physiological and psychological, so the hold is powerful.

We'll be or do whatever it takes to turn you on, baby. We just want to make you feel goood... ;)

On some level, I go through a somewhat analogous process with the people I work with in the organization I run. I analyze the psychological motivations of my colleagues so as to ensure they are functioning in a capacity that best suits their strengths and weaknesses. Now, my focus is how I can help individuals to operate at their peak capacity- be it insidiously or directly, depending on the nature of the character I am dealing with at any given time.

One thing I've learned is that allowing too many people too great a say in a given organization leads to chaos and dissent. Power should be consolidated.

    This is an amazing post.

I think I have the capacity to do this, although I would not use it to hurt a person.

I have been afraid of this level of perception, in myself, which I have.

You can have it and use it for good, though.

    3. I found that in the forum just now. To make bold type or italics: HTML

I happen to like this quote from that thread:

..." way to go mates. sounds like a lot of you are looking for the award for best drama.

psychopaths are charming and they can mimic you or someone you idealize. they are carefree and influential. its easy to get sucked in and the hyper focus that they have when they are interested in you makes you feel like you are the most important person in the world.

when you talk of 'how they lure someone in' you make it sound like every relationship with a psychopath is victimization. while granted a relationship with a psychopath will be eccentric, it wont necessarily be insidious."

It was from that Ukan do-it-be-it-make-it-break-it etc guy. I think I'm a fan. ;-)

    I like this one:

  5. Has anybody here read Jon Ronson's "The Psychopath Test"? It sounds very interesting to me......

Check out this link and listen to the story about "Tony" he was in jail and his cell mate told him to fake being crazy so he would get sent to a cushy hospital with nursrs feeding him icecream and where he gets to play playstation all day...... But tony faked being crazy TOO WELL, so they sent him to "Broodmoor criminal lunatic Asylum" and he was still in there after 12 years, where-as if he went to prison he would have only had to serve 5 years....... I dont want to give away what happens in the story because its in the video but check it out and let me know what you all think....... The guy faked being crazy so well that he couldnt convince them he was actually sane........

Here is the link just copy and paste:

    1. There was a review of this book on this site not long a go. Do a search.

    2. Book's quite good actually. Mainly, it is focused on Hares PCL-R test and in the book various people are analyzed with it, so basicly it is some sort of tutorial. It explains that psychopaths are different too and not always meet the full criteria. Also it is written for an average reader, so is easy to read.
What I don't like about this book? Well it's more like an afternoon read than some sort of serious book. It covers PCL-R quite well but lacks information about the brain structure and other significant things I'm interested in.

    3. Thanks Anon, Ill check it out.

Mee- Interesting review, thanks. I still wanna read it though, after seeing that 18 minute video and what you wrote it sounds like a good read to me!

I love storms too! I get what you mean when you say you dont know if you have a PD, and that you are just Lunar, I think alot of people here think the same way. Sometimes I think I may have a PD, but Iam also super empathic so it dosent fit with most PD's....... It confuses me sometimes........
