I meant to write this...

I meant to write this in a grandiose fashion when I first thought about writing something here as a guest. I found the mental state to do that too hard to reach and it would have meant manipulating myself in such a way that my views would alter. So I just gave it a go.

I think I might be a narcissistic sociopath. Not because I manipulate, not because I don't seem to have what it is called affection, but because I am an outsider in society. I read a lot about sociopathy, psychopathy and ASPD which from what I understand they are three different things. The actions of psychopaths that are being portrayed by writers (Martha Stout, Robert Hare, Hervey Cleckley and others around the web) don't seem relevant to me because all that is written and depicted in their stories is purely circumstantial. Each one of us has to do what he has to do. I will never think of my past and say that I wanted to do harm here and there. Instead I firmly believe that I am a good man, have done nothing wrong, only what was necessary. If someone comes to me and tells me that I have hurt them, I immediately try to apologize and make them understand my behavior.

This blog has helped me because I felt lost in the vortex of my urges. I wanted to be normal and everything I did seemed to be out of the ordinary. I didn't understand why I did what I did and why I didn't feel anything. If I wouldn't have found this blog I would've surely ended up in prison by the time I reached 30. Finding this blog allowed me to sit on it a while and think and compartmentalize.

As I said, I don't feel that I am doing anything wrong and when I read about reoffending sociopaths I see them somewhat below me, stupid and unable to control themselves.

The facts that strongly point me to thinking that I am a sociopath are the simple things, not the schemes I involve myself into. I am asexual, I don't have any opinions, I can say whatever it is need for me to say without it affecting me, I don't fit in any group in the whole world.

Before I started reading this blog I felt that the whole world was against me because I thought that everybody was thinking like me. When someone tried to give me some advice, I took it as manipulation, when someone helped me I took it as their way to indebt me, I didn't even trust my mother. Now I understand that the people do things that I don't understand for reasons I don't understand and I can pretend I understand and go with the flow.

  4. I try to imagine what it's like to not take another persons feelings into account when I interact with them, for me that would be impossible. The same way it's impossible for me to know what you go through in any consistant way but I try.
This blog has been very helpful towards understanding myself and our differences.

I wonder if there's any value to the ones that write meaningless shit about their pranks, call names or just say their the greatest with no proof other then their lip service.

What's great anyways? We can all physiclly hurt, emotionally hurt, even kill.

What makes someone great? Not just to themselves but in the eyes of others?
If in the eyes of others doesn't matter then your all alone. No army and no force is made up of just one.
It's like if a tree falls in the woods, if you didn't hear it did it fall? That would be the equel force of one great person all by themself.

  5. Sounds like someone that just feels perpetually misunderstood and acts in his own self interest. From what I can tell, not exactly enough to qualify as a sociopath (not that I'm a good judge of such things).

An outsider to society? Visit NYC, part of the beauty of it is that everyone is an outsider so no one really is. Not exactly uncommon. More like you're stuck inside your own head or trapped in an environment that isn't conducive to your personal needs.

  6. I can relate to this a lot, of course the people on here trying their hardest to fit the sociopath stereotype will say it's bullshit. You can tell the fakers, by the way they seem more psychopathic than anyone, they are writing with the intent of sounding as psychopathic as possible (or what they believe to be psychopathic)

  7. How many sociopaths were real confused when they were young about why they seemed different.

Did any feel it was that they were superior, wiser or did you just find you were slicker then others?

  8. "don't seem relevant to me"

If none of what the experts have written seems relevant to you, chances are that your not a psychopath. If you have such brilliant self control, chances are that you're not a psychopath.

"they are writing with the intent of sounding as psychopathic as possible (or what they believe to be psychopathic)"

Its funny that you should say that anon because thats exactly what this retard has done. He's created his own definition of Psychopathy. One that conveniently fits him. This whole thing is a joke.

  9. This letter is not unlike some of the letters I receive on my blog.

It's usually hard to accommodate people, to give them advice or tell them what 'they really are', and that is usually what they really want us (myself, you M.E.) to do.

Superficially this person does indeed seem to have the traits of a sociopath. I don't know where the Narcissism came into the picture.

At the end of the day one needs a LOT more than what this person has given you before you can even tentatively point them in any direction.

And then they mention Martha Stout alongside Robert Hare. If you want to define yourself you will need to choose the definition that makes most sense to you.

I myself have settled for Dr. Robert D. Hare's definition, and it seems to be the one mostly in use amongst those with high expertise.

I don't mind giving advice, but with mails such as the one you have posted here I always write back and ask them to indulge me with a bit more conversation or correspondence concerning the facts that surrounds their situation.

That way I have been able to point some readers in the right direction.

There's a reason why it testing is such an extensive procedure.

    .....

    UKan:

    "This is pure bullocks."

Why do you take that position?
I'm just interested in hearing if perhaps you're thinking this way because you apply a different understanding of the word Sociopath than I do.

If this individual is a Sociopath, sentences he wrote such as f.ex.:

"Not because I manipulate, not because I don't seem to have ... affection, but because I am an outsider in society."

    and:

"I firmly believe that I am a good man, have done nothing wrong, only what was necessary. If ... I have hurt them, I ... try to apologize ..."

It fits the profile, if not perfectly then at least enough.

    .....

    tik:

"Did any feel it was that they were superior, wiser or did you just find you were slicker then others?"

    That's how I felt. That's how I still feel.

"How many sociopaths were real confused when they were young about why they seemed different."

Not confused. But at some point I did wonder and came to the conclusion I was just special and unusually clever.

There is more to this, but I prefer to keep that part of it on my blog - for now, anyway - and am planning to address that very aspect in a soon upcoming article or article series.

I believe I'm getting better at expressing myself in a more readable and informative, even richer, way. And hopefully to the reader also a more enjoyable way.

    - Well, that was a side note. :)

  13. I say bravo. Who cares if you're a Narc and "hated" by other sociopaths? Who gives a fuck what anyone thinks, really? I certainly don't, unless it gets me something I want :)

The blog's name is correct. SociopathWorld. But this isn't a sociopath world, it is the world that is sociopathic and chooses the outsider for itself and never the other way around.

We're all slaves. Some realize it while others don't, and some would rather play games then try to make the best of slavery. There's no crime in either.

  14. There seems to be an opinion here that if someone is introspective and letting us hear conclusions they've come to their not a sociopath.

Maybe Adam you just haven't felt the need to do it yourself. Your not all cookie cutter created, how unique would that. Make any of you?

You are all different but have adapted differently to you psycopathy. You don't know what you would be looking at in yourself if you were homeless or in prison. Your desires would be different if you landed a job you felt was it was one you wanted to excell in and keep.

I feel honored to hear what goes on inside your minds. That's the only way I know how to put it.
If I were to know you face to face I doubt I would hear an honest word come from any of you.

People want to understand themselves, get to know themselves. And doing that in reference to their surroundings can be very helpful.

I understand what you mean, I've been living according to that notion all my life. But I can see why it gives me an extra tool to know what I "am" in the context of how others understand things.

    Adam:

"Zhawq you are the cancer of this blog, you aren't even a psychopath and you think you are some kind of expert,"

You really know a lot about me, what I think and what diagnosis I have, do you not?

"everything you say is garbage your insight is terrible and everyone agrees."

    Do elaborate, please?
Everyone agrees with what? Are you speaking on everybody's behalf here?

"It was probably you who wrote the entry."

    Lol. You're silly!

At least on this we can agree!

  22. Lmao. I'm glad we all suddenly became psychologists over night.

Why doesn't everyone just analyze the syntax in the article? You'll probably determine something more useful than a faint opinion.

I don't see this guy being a sociopath by any means because of the wording and tone in this article, but even then it can only be a guess.

Next time you guys want to define psychopathy based on other scientist's research on a category of the science realm that is still a newborn compared to the rest of its family, try going to college instead.

  23. Tik, I'll have you know that I often "test the waters" with certain people. I'll only go as far as to say when they meet certain criteria for communication then I am not as elusive, and when I say that I mean elusive by intent.

There are many things that I cannot control, one important mention would be yourself, but should you qualify I guarantee I'd be honest in person.

I can also guarantee that if you do not qualify, I would do nothing but bullshit and quite honestly EXPECT 100% for you to buy 51% of it.

  24. tik:

"I try to imagine what it's like to not take another persons feelings into account when I interact with them, for me that would be impossible."

Yes, it's quite interesting in a way. I have been doing the same thing, but in reverse. I find it impossible to imagine how it must be to feel or to have empathy with what others feel when you communicate with them.

    It's a mystery to me.

"There seems to be an opinion here that if someone is introspective and letting us hear conclusions they've come to their not a sociopath."

This is quite common amongst people who don't really know what sociopathy or psychopathy is. I meet this kind of thing often.

Even on fora that are supposed to be FOR Antisocial people it isn't uncommon to find that Antisocials or Sociopaths take for granted that psychopaths feel exactly like they do.
It can be quite amusing or interesting to watch these individuals embarrassing themselves.

I'm looking at Adam much in the same way. ;)

"Maybe Adam you just haven't felt the need to do it yourself."

For me it's not about needs. I'm merely taking an interest in this area. It used to be that sociopaths/psychopaths wandered through life alone, maybe sensing someone else now and then but never or very rarely exchanging about how we see and experience the world.

This is an opportunity to learn new things, and as every person with a minimum of intellect knows: Knowledge is power. And I love power, hence I learn.

About Adam though, he does seem needy. *S*

    Anon 10:50 am:

"Psychopaths use morality to hide from themselves, to delude themselves into thinking that what they want to do is what society sees as right."

No, psychopaths do not have any need to delude themselves into thinking society think the same way that they do. To the psychopath it doesn't matter what others think!

To some sociopaths it may be like you say though. But most sociopaths belong to sub-cultural groups, and they get their mores from those, not from society in general.

Maybe you're talking about rationalization. But psychopaths don't believe in it. It's a matter of saying what is most likely to trigger a response that is to your advantage, or which may save your ass. That's all there is to it.

  25. Misanthrope said: "If none of what the experts have written seems relevant to you, chances are that your not a psychopath."

I disagree with you dude. This guy sees the pictures depicted by the experts as being of a subjective matter. He said that the actions are circumstantial. That means that anybody would do the same thing if they were faced with the same situation.

And I agree. I read Martha Stout's book and the bitch talks about sociopaths as if they are beings from outer space.

I also agree with this guy.

"I dont say anything. Once someone crosses the line I fuck them. Once someone thinks they'll cross the line ill pull them over it and fuck them. People who haven't lost a fight haven't fought enough people. If you want people to respect you lay down examples."

    *nods* :)

  28. So thats to say that a sociopath has to be faced with a certain set of circumstances to behave in a certain way? well thats not right. I do what I feel like doing no matter what situation I'm in. The circumstances only make a difference on how I go about doing it. I dont have to justify my actions to myself, only to other people for the sake of getting them of my back. "because I feel like it" is always a good enough reason for me.

Given the right circumstances, anybody can behave like a sociopath. But they have to be very extreme circumstances(usually). I behave the way we do no matter what. The same as all other sociopaths.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Mike:

"And I agree. I read Martha Stout's book and the bitch talks about sociopaths as if they are beings from outer space."

I find it hard to take Martha Stout seriously.

    But as for 'experts':
Everything is subjective! But that doesn't mean people can't gain consensus on a theory or thesis that seems to make sense.

When I apply my definitions of Sociopathy, Psychopathy and Antisocial Personality Disorder to the Robert Hare school it's because I can see things from that less subjective angle as well as my personal angle.

That doesn't mean I agree with everything Robert Hare &.co things and concludes about people like myself, obviously I do not.

You can't create a definition for the use of some level of generalized definition and also describe each individual precisely.

I've lived in our society for decades and that has enabled me to understand how they think and - to some extent - why they think the way they do.

That's all there is to it: Pragmatism, if you will.

  30. Notable,

in relation to your comment for me here at SociopathWorld on Feb. 14.:

One more line for you, Notable:

"I find it hard to take you serious in any facet concerning the precise diagnosis distinction between three potentially different disorders when you can't even make up your own mind about You."

You seem a little confused here, no?

It is not I who am confused. I know very well who and what I am. I have made my view as it was initially clear, and I haven't made much of a secret of my having changed my mind in certain regards ... not to who or how I am, but in regard to how I will classify myself in the context of others and the world around.

My initial views came with me as I first arrived at this blog (the first of it's kind I'd ever come upon).
My view has changed over the past few months, in part as a result of what I have found on this blog, and in part as a result of what I have found elsewhere as an extension of me re-awoken interest in looking further into the subject of my diagnosis and how it pertains to my own and my surrounding world's reality.

And now you come along, talking about not being able to make up one's mind about oneself?

You're something of a hypocritical laugh, you know that? It is not I who keep saying I don't know where on the scale I belong. I have even told you outright about 2 months back that I know exactly what I am!!

This attempt of yours at coming off like a tough guy who can show others that you know how to put others in their place - especially if their place isn't yet quite established amongst the regulars, ...

    - is pathetic, my "friend"!... And my bet is that you are fooling no one!

(On the other hand, you never know. There're fools and idiots everywhere. Maybe Adam will support you - make you proud?)

    ReplyDelete
  31. Stereotypes happen for a reason. There is some truth to them.
Introspection is one thing. Introspection coming from a sociopath is completely different.
People come on this site for reasons why they are not accepted in society. To them that makes them a sociopath. We have had people year after year, and month after month with this story. I always say bullocks. You read in these books about ruthlessness and different ways sociopaths think. Everyone has impulses to do evil. In the right situation they will act on them. With sociopaths it goes past thought. It is instantly from a thought into action.
Sociopaths are not pragmatists. If they were they wouldn't be out there causing destruction. If you want to go by the books and psychologists they will tell you that a majority of sociopaths are impulsive and self destructive.
At the end of the day I found sociopaths both in the criminal world and in professional to be pretty like minded. When someone is not I find it hard to believe.
Sociopaths don't find integration into society difficult. They are not outsiders. They blend in and are propelled into leadership. I just started school and im already the head of the business club. Sociopaths are hyper networkers.
Schizoids are commonly mistaken as sociopaths on here. They are very introverted as opposed to the sociopath who is a extrovert.

  32. I think we should teach this zhawq guy a lesson.

  33. Sociopaths are not like the guy from taxi driver, I've never felt like an outsider. I'm the uventer of my own universe, I am the actor and the drama is unfolding around me, all of you are mere props, in my mind you don't hold value.

  34. "Schizoids are commonly mistaken as sociopaths on here. They are very introverted as opposed to the sociopath who is a extrovert."

Yeah. Everybody was going on about how they need alone time and TNP said that he prefers isolation. I dont mind being alone just so long as I have something to do, but its alot more fun to be around people, for many different reasons. I can make "friends" with anybody I want to.

  37. In my opinion the "badasses" of this blog fail to reach with their tiny mind the purpose of this blog.

ME is trying to put another face to sociopathy, one of understanding towards the disorder. Meanwhile UKan and others brag infinitely about how bad they are. They fail to grasp the essence. The fact that behind the sociopaths misbehavior is reason.

Sociopaths never do evil in a ostentatious way. They do it because the it doesn't seem bad or whatever to them.

UKan brags about how bad he is and how he thinks of himself as the bad guy. Misanthrope too.

Sociopaths don't have the ability to see that they are doing wrong to others. To them what they are doing is just pleasing themselves with their actions.

Joseph Newman said that when he studied psychopaths he saw how they went out of their way to help others in some circumstances. What does that tell you UKan?

I can see the pain that I cause and it doesn't bother me. It is all about pleasing myself and it doesnt matter who I hurt along the way as long as I get my fill. Sociopaths have a bad reputation because of the things we do. ME can try to dress it up as much as he likes but its never going to change and I dont care. I don't consider myself a terrible person I actually consider myself a fantastic person. Thats not because I do good, its because doing wrong doesn't matter to me. It's no big deal.

    ReplyDelete
  56. i will say it's a strange relationship between narcissism and arrogance. they are obviously strongly correlated but a narc cares what other people thinks of him, whereas truly strong arrogance makes someone think that noone else's opinion matters.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Were did you get that from? True arrogance wants to flaunt itself, you mean confidence.

    ReplyDelete
  58. in my opinion:
true arrogance is a way of thinking. the thought that everyone else is beneath you. confidence is related, obviously, but it is a projection that requires other people to be projected onto. i don't think someone can be said to have confidence if there is no-one else around. if there is no-one else around someone could still think arrogant thoughts.

but that distinction is not really relevant - if you want to rephrase it as "it's a strange relationship between nacissism and confidence" then it's the same question of whether someone else's opinion matters to the person or not.

    ReplyDelete
  59. and surely it is true narcissism that wants to flaunt itself

  63. God, Notable.

I love you to death, but...

    Your diction is unbareably consistent...

  64. What the hell was the point of this thread? So far all I've seen is a bunch of people calling each other fake S's. Don't get me wrong I don't care that you share your opinions. This is obviously the place for them. I'm just wondering why all the concern over this fake vs real crap?

@wannabes Why do you wanna be a S? Do you think you'll get super powers? Does being an S give you laser eye beams or some other such nonsense.

@S's Why do you care if they fake it or not. If they are trying to be one then eventually they will meet one. They will probably quickly find out in that situation that they aren't one. Sociopaths it's not like there is some secret club that you can get into for being one. You don't get to have free lunches. You want a medal? Then go get one.

As for me. I don't care. Apply whatever label you want. I am what I am.

In true troll fashion this thread has been lolz worthy.

  65. ... *sigh*
    You're all terribly disappointing...

That sentence may only work to full effect if said in an English accent.

  66. No there's certain people calling people out not everyone. That's what we do here you fucking mental wanker. We tear everything you say to pieces until you are nothing but the truth. We take all your mental masterbation and shove it in your mouth and then we confuse you and play games with with your head. The best part is we tell you before we do it just so you can see how much fucking lower than us you really are.
If you can't take the ridicule then stay silent. Just watch because you are blood in the water and the sharks have been hungry.

  67. The point of this blog post was to present someone's self-identification. As for diagnosis, we can only relate to what we know about ourselves. If something does not synch, would being suspect of such a claim be so unnatural?

Are you asking questions to provoke, or are you simply a moron?

    ReplyDelete
  68. I sincerely hope you do not believe what you just said UKan.

    ReplyDelete
  69. @Ukan Ooooo that is what you do here. In that case let me show all the points where someone got it so hard on here that they went crying.

    ....

    give me a second.

    ....

I ain't got jack shit. So far all you have described is the common internet troll. Good job.

@TheNotablePath No what I was simply getting at was that this thread turned into a giant pissing match between some people. Is sarcasm a foreign substance to you? Do you have an inability to read into what people have written? Or do you just wish to snipe at me because you need vindication for some reason?

    ReplyDelete
  70. Yah I do. My comments reflect that. You want to check go back to any bullshitting on here and see what happened. All the way back to thunderball who was the first idiot to peddle this shit three years ago. They left this site fucking devestated. Some spilled the truth. Like the girl who lied to us about getting revenge on her sociopath boyfriend. Or when we crash dummied Mike. We have been fucking with peopke.on.here for years. Get with it. This is a game and if you comment you are playing it. The people that have been here a while know what time it is. You are just a insecure bitch who can't stand the sight if people higher than you.

    ReplyDelete
  71. This is a game, there's no doubt about that, my dear. But you're delusional if you think you're winning. There's no way for you to tell the truth from the lies, you ought to remember that.

    ReplyDelete
  72. @Ukan If that is being a Sociopath then I know a great website for you. It is called 4chan. You can talk to all the rapists, murders, psychopaths, you can feel superior there all you want, and there are even PICTURES!

    ReplyDelete
  73. I have a proven track record cunt. You have one for sniveling about arrogance. What does that say about you.
Kesu you are a fucking joke. You have more hypothesis than a scientist. What a bore. You sound like that nerd spock from star wars. Fucking computers have more personality.
"Please explain to me this thought process."
You don't talk that way out loud do you? Its bullshit. No wonder you're a outcast.

  74. 'you fucking mental wanker'
    lol. quote of the day.

a socio obsessed with the truth eh? Who'd have thunk it.

*sings* Go go power Ukan, mighty socio power Ukaaaannnnn!
    haha...
    i'm high

  75. All the murderers, child molestors and rapists are right here you dunce. You are in sociopathworld now.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Hah. You do amuse me. You can't have a proven track record there's literally no way to tell the truth from the lies, it as simple as that. As for me, well, I have nothing against arrogance, only stupidity. That truly does annoy me. You though, I am willing to tolerate if only for the delicious hilarity you provide. Honestly, to know you truly would be something. I'm thinking middle management, hasn't quite grasped the concepts that make someone truly powerful, too caught up in their own ego. I know someone just like you.

    ReplyDelete
  77. @Ukan This is kinda funny. You are grasping at straws. Trying to make me react in some way that will make you feel superior. Trying to make me show some emotion. When I have ever called myself an outcast? Is it just by being here that I must in turn be an outcast? If so what does that say about you? Either way rage more.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Kesu, if you were a fruit, what would you be?

It's a staple part of induction here that you must answer.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Sarcasm has a funny way of being obscured within text, and often claimed when right in the middle of serious text for the convenience of the offended party.

    Oh, that's what you did.

    Moron.

You think I need vindication? Are you kidding me? Look around you.

It's a stabbing game, where everyone seeks to slip a blade between cracks to see just how much the other bleeds. Don't get caught up in a game you can't stomach.

  80. Entertainment is what im about. Now you're talking.

  81. Phaos said...
'I think I might be a narcissistic sociopath.'

Does it matter? Why do people feel the need to find a label or a group that they fit into? Just accept what you are and get on with your life.

    ---------------------------------

For real, Phaos. It should be easy to do this. I am at a point at this very moment where I am thinking I just want to stop looking at myself. Frankly, I have been boring the holy crap out of myself. I do not have time to sit and wallow in what life and genetics have dealt me. I have journal entries from when I was very young, and nothing about my inner angst, with all the high-priced therapy and drugs I have employed, has changed. Whatever the hell spot I am on the spectrum of any pd, I could give a shit. I seek a key to (what feels like)the self made jail cell I'm in. If anyone wants to know whether or not I am angry, I will tell you this: Yes.

  82. +1 to anonymous.

    @notme I'd be a tomato.

Welcome to the human condition. Consider yourself lucky.

  86. Kesu, keep them guessing is always strategic. Wise call.

  87. Guessing is a strategy too. Also wise.

  88. I am beginning to wonder if anyone here is actually a sociopath. Most of the comments seem more aligned to alienated youths trying to hold onto a sense of belonging, a type of identity. ANY identity. My (admittedly basic) understanding of socipathy/psychopathy/narcissism would suggest that someone truly "suffering" from any of these disorders would neither recognise their difficulties nor need to boast of them here. Maybe you're all trainee sociopaths and need words of wisdom from an experienced socio to advise you to hide your light under a bushel a bit more. Grasshopper.

    ReplyDelete
  89. I think its more a type of Pathology Identity Disorder. Advanced sufferers could request to have their empathy removed surgically. If their health insurance covers it maybe even callousness and entitlement inplants.
