Heh guess what? It could also be re-phrased as the cruel tyranny of congruency :)
The nice mice continues along, long after the rewards have ceased, gradually replaced by punishment because it accepts only the patterns of the past rather than risk the incongruity of change
New knowledge is indeed painful for the congruent.
Well, as I'm sure M.E. knows, a popular theory built on last year offers that fearlessness in psychopaths is moderated by their focus of attention.
However, it was noted by peers that the momentary state induced for the study, "in which interhemispheric activity is relatively less imbalanced is also displayed in a fear-potentiated startle pattern that is not significantly different from normal participants."
Other scientists simultaneously proposed that the PCL-R be accompanied by a Boldness Interview (BI), particularly in relation to non-criminal psychopathy, which would measure resilience to life stress, calmness in the face of threat, and social dominance.
ME, the way you redirect from one post to another linking them together is very effective and likeable. It definitely makes the read more interesting. Even a quote that has not other significance than what it really means is made better with an example. I suggest you do this more often.
No, even psychopaths can feel fear. Typically, it doesn't occur instantly and takes build up to occur, but in 'exciting' moments which could cause fear in your average person, it is replaced with excitement for both psychopaths and sociopaths. I can't comment for regular AsPDrs.
I think what they mean by fearless is that we underestimate things that other people would be afraid of, because as Sam Vaknin states, psychopaths and narcissists have "x ray vision" of course we fear death and pain just as much as anyone else would, but the person who is giving the pain is nothing to us lesser than thrash.

The world is a vampire, sent to drain Secret destroyers, hold you up to the flames And what do I get, for my pain? Betrayed desires, and a piece of the game
Hey, just because i'm a cutter and pray each morning and night to be able to see through Christ's eyes and feel with his heart doesn't mean we have nothing in common.
God is just out my back door, yet I choose not to visit. I would rather sit alone and scheme on how to be remembered, on what more that I can do here to cement the evidence that I once walked these roads with you. It is a futile exercise. I know it is, and yet I persist.
why is it not possible to respect emotion the way we respect knowledge?
feelings can be captivating, or revolting, and are often dazzling, like the sun washing over us, affecting the way we perceive every single thing around us each and every moment. they're inescapable, blinding us always a little bit to reality. and they make for great art. but at the end of the day it is always logic and knowledge that we respect - and ultimately defer to.
how come? i wonder if the world would be a worse or better place if we valued feelings more and knowledge less?
Rather than the Right to Life its the Right to Feel Zoe. Different cultures value feelings at different degrees. I will say the Italians have a certain beautiful vitality in their elder years, I do not see generally in the States. Maybe we all should commit to be agents of passionate change and feel our way to a better society. Fuck the accumulation of knowledge. I am feeling very rebellious at the moment and I am using lots of hand gestures!.
fuck you corgan u pussy lol self directed rage is weakness, you can't change that though, now everyone knows your a fuck up, you brain dead mother fucker.
"Dulce vita!" Emotionally expressive, well dressed sucmbag misogynists, who serve me cappuccinos in petite white cups. My return glance to as I slowly sip is purely sprezzatura!
the men do blame everything that goes "wrong" on the mother. It's very strange. they give mothers all this power! ( But then of course they can then blame them for everything. hmm)
No wonder "macho" is comedic. these poor guys are weakened and then just puff up to compensate
Yes, we mothers are responsible for everything . . . you're existence!
Now, that's power. Yet it is a life affirming power. Respect to a woman is the first sign of forward moving mental balance. And I didn't mean being perfect all the time. The general frequency of regard will carry one farther in life. The more machismo the male the more of a hidden or shadow desire for the nourishing qualities of a mother figure to balance the fire of a fierce or excessive masculinity.
UKAN, married life treating you well?
Sometimes protecting and cherishing one female whether is it your mother or your wife is the hidden balance in the power base of a king. Thus one can do battle and then restore fully at home.

ReplyDeleteNot all sociopaths are fearless from what I heard.
ReplyDeletePsychopaths are the fearless ones, and even they, according to zwhaq, feel a mildy pleasant sensation replacing fear.
