Copies of the talks presented at last November's Second Bergen Conference on the Treatment of Psychopathy are available here, for those who are interested in the latest research or theories. All of the talks include links to powerpoint or other supporting documents and Vimeo videos that hopefully should be accessible, wherever you happen to be watching geographically.

It is very likely the patient has one or more personality disorders.

My mother was both physically and psychologically abusive (mostly psychologically). As a child, I had no choice in the matter, but to deal with it. My mother was and can be very manipulative. She lacks emotion most of the time. She's like a fucking robot, I swear.

Wheatley, the past is the past. Those who haven't moved on from abuse usually show some form of PTSD. I don't. Nor do I have anxiety or paranoia. If anything, I am simply cautious because I am aware of what people are like.
ReplyDeleteI've been in numerous relationships over the years, so clearly I'm not afraid to let other people into my life. Mind you, the relationships were short-lived, but that's because I lack empathy, am argumentative, confrontational and I can be abusive at times.
When I was teenager I got into some trouble and my boyfriend's mother ended up letting me live with her for awhile. One night my boyfriend was late to pick me up (we'd made plans to go out). As soon as he arrived to greet me, I punched him in the stomach in front of his mother. She gasped in shock. I demanded we still go out and we did. I acted on impulse, but it's things like that caused relationship problems.

My friend's kid was evaluated as having extremely immature emotional age and high IQ. Both sides of the family are genetically fucked, with 50% criminals and drug addicts. Kid's been on prozac for years, and he's only 14. He's deceitful and manipulative. Extremely domineering Mom is not helping.
Anyone hear of these therapeutic boarding schools for boys with his issues? I wonder what their methods are like.
You cannot be a phoney if you are to be friends with a sociopath. They will have no time for you and, rightfully so. Hence, you must draw on your deeper nature, as sociopaths have a radar which separates the authentic from drivel. For me, I find the authentic, in the process.

Now this is a story all about how my life got flipped-turned upside down and I'd like to take a minute just sit right there and tell you how I became the prince of a town called Bel-Air.

Chillin out, maxin, relaxing all cool, and all shooting some b-ball outside of the school when a couple of guys who were up to no good started making trouble in my neighborhood. I got in one lil fight and my mom got scared and said, "You're moving with your auntie and uncle in Bel-Air".
I whistled for a cab and when it came near the license plate said FRESH and it had dice in the mirror. If anything I can say this cab was rare but I thought naw forget it yo homes.. to Bel-Air!.
I pulled up to the house about 7 or 8 and I yelled to the cabby "Demon smell ya later".
I looked at my kingdom I was finally there to sit on my throne as the Prince of Bel Air.

My mother was the same way, Demon. He used to hit me with cords. I remember one time when I had pnemonia (dont remember spelling) my two sister were goofing off causing trouble and my father couldn't figure out who did it. So he punished all of us. I won't really go into details here.
He used to use psychological games to. He would take off my door so I didn't have privacy. He told us that the rest of the world was evil and that they wanted to take us away from him and put us in a terrible foster care system to keep us quiet. Sooner or later the anger built up.
