Appendix (part 7)

I wanted to include this quote in the book chapter about Mormonism, regarding the Mormon church's doctrine re different types of people (including neurodiversity), but it was too late to add to the manuscript. From LDS President Dieter F. Uchtdorf:

But while the Atonement is meant to help us all become more like Christ, it is not meant to make us all the same. Sometimes we confuse differences in personality with sin. We can even make the mistake of thinking that because someone is different from us, it must mean they are not pleasing to God. This line of thinking leads some to believe that the Church wants to create every member from a single mold—that each one should look, feel, think, and behave like every other. This would contradict the genius of God, who created every man different from his brother, every son different from his father. Even identical twins are not identical in their personalities and spiritual identities.

It also contradicts the intent and purpose of the Church of Jesus Christ, which acknowledges and protects the moral agency—with all its far-reaching consequences—of each and every one of God’s children. As disciples of Jesus Christ, we are united in our testimony of the restored gospel and our commitment to keep God’s commandments. But we are diverse in our cultural, social, and political preferences.

The Church thrives when we take advantage of this diversity and encourage each other to develop and use our talents to lift and strengthen our fellow disciples.

  3. Sociopath view on things:

I got this cat from a neighbor. I got bored with it after a couple of months and so I left it at my mother's. She didn't manage to take good care of it and let it run in front of a car which ran over its tail. The doctors had to amputate its tail. I realized what I have done so I got the cat back from my mother, put it in a bag and snapped its neck. It was like turning off a computer after being done using it. I think I did it a favor too, I curbed its pain.

    1. Having a short tail, especially if it's been taken care of by a vet, probably wasn't a substantial source of pain.

You didn't get a thrill from killing it, nothing? I'm not sure you're serial killer material, sir.

Also fuck you I like cats :)

    3. I like cats too. You could have just given it to someone who wanted it or to a no-kill shelter. How would you like it if someone put you in a bag and snapped your neck?

    4. That's fucked up!!!! I would have taken the cat and gave it a good home and snapped your neck instead, at least the cat is meaningful to this world......... Your nuts!!!!!!

    5. For real I like cats too!!!! I just got a 5th one!!!!! We had 3 and then one day the sweetest cat just came out of nowhere and started living at mine and my neighbors house..... He is an older cat and you can tell he was and still is domesticated so either somebody moved away and left him outside or he ran away and never went home. I looked ion craigslist and around the neighborhood for any lost cat signs and nobody put any up so now we feed him every day and he lives at mine and my neighbors house, he just roams around and comes and goes as he pleases.

Then about 10 days ago a coworker of my mother found 5 kittens in her backyard and gave 4 away and kept one but she said her mother is a psycho who would literally kill the cat when she left it at home and went to work so my mom brought it home and its a girl. We took her to the vet last week for her shots but she is still too small, she is only 1 and 1/4 pounds and needs to be at least 2 lbs to get her shots..

  4. This is more related to M.E's book, the interviews etc. I am waiting for my copy to arrive but have gotten a lot of insight from the above.

My insight is into the nature of the self. We can glamorize being a sociopath and it has it's glamor, no doubt but for someone like me, who grew up with a Mal narc parent who was empathy challenged, by definition, the amorphous self is very sad, heartbreaking really.

Having to deal with and defend myself from such a person made my own self go very dormant. Trying to bring it up from this dormancy is my quest and my purpose in life, beyond all the superficial purposes I have and also trying to meet spiritual goals.

However, beyond all that, I am really writing to say that it is a very hard burden to have an amorphous self. The degree of the amorphousness of the self is key, too. If a sociopath has a high degree of fluidity of self, it is not really glamorous but very heartbreaking.

    1. Just wondering Monica, are you a sociopath yourself or do you have any other sort of 'illness'?

      Delete
    2. No, I am not a sociopath. I don't know what I have, actually. When I went to shrinks, they said dysthemic.
I honed it down to disassociation and I think it is this.

    3. I'd say what Monica has is what is called 'boring,' because she is only into herself or those who are more unfortunate or men. If you're a woman, don't bother with her, she'd snap on you soon.

I'm just amazed she is not bored with her current self. She'll grow up the minute she finds herself boring, but cannot happen, like mother like daughter very narcissistic.

    4. What Monica has is called in the DSM-V Irrecuperable Fuckedupathy. As you know, we don't believe in clear cut diamonds among us, so what Monica has cannot be treated or classified. She just got fucked up by life really bad. From lat. fuckedupus-Irrecuperable Fuckedupathy.

I write a bit here and there. You will know when you see it. The more important question is how are you? What is going on with the second salon? Any other new happenings since you left SW?

  5. I don't really think they were talking about sociopaths when they were talking about accepting personality differences. Would any church support a personality that gets its kicks from hurting others? Kinda goes against the golden rule.

    3. All they have to do is Google pedophile priests.

Then again, providing examples (evidence) would be part of the reasoning process. I have discovered that all the reasoning in the world won’t help people see what they don’t want to see.

  7. I've had Mormon roommates, several Mormon co-workers or "friends," and two of my immediate supervisors have been Mormon. I've been taught the way of the Mormon, but not on Sundays at school. Five years ago I went to a Mormon church with a girl I was using and sleeping with at the time to see a different perspective, from the testimony of her Mormon friends' friends. I've learned things about the diversity, neuro or otherwise, of the LDS.

Because I can conceptualize the individual differences in the human genome and personal experience, I understand more now than I did when I lacked aforementioned experience, about the myriad ways Mormons come together in their religion. Still, I ask "Why?"

I really don't give a shit if all of a given Mormon's family are of the LDS persuasion and it's therefore a compelling consanguineal trend. ASPD is all about breaking trends.

I don't know how many people identify as both Mormon and as a sociopath, but to anyone who does: Your self-destruction could be a lot more rewarding with sex, drugs and rock and roll. Though I guess that stuff is like empathy in that you don't miss it because you've never had it, although you know it exists.

  9. Hi Rich! You never told us what was happening in your big hiatus? Ever see the dental assistant again? You were not coming for a few months. Any big things happening? What about the job situation?

    1. Hey Monica!!!! LOL No I never saw the hot dental assistant again! When I was leaving the doctor gave me a sheet of how much it would cost for 3 root canals and whatever other stuff he had to do, I forget, I think he only mentioned the root canals but he gave me a sheet that said even WITH INSURANCE it would cost me over $2000!!!!! LOl! Ill just live with the pain and the vicodin he gave me! lol

I have been applying for at least two jobs a week and just had an interview last week but was SUPER NERVOUS because it was like my first interview of going back out into the real world so I had to take #4 2mg Xanax, #2 30mg temazepams, a glass of wine and a beer just to calm my nerves........ And the interview was at 9:15 in the MORNING! LOLOL! But besides that I have cut down on Xanax to a quarter f a pill a day (I get 2mg pills so I take a 0.5 per day) a 0.5 of Xanax is as strong as 10mgs of valium so one full Xanax is like #4 10mg valiums so it still helps my anxiety, I only yake more in situations like job interviews and stuff ;)

    2. I admire you for trying with all that resistance, Rich. I have mountains of anxiety too xx

    3. Rich, root canal could lead to brain infection. That would be different than your current style of cooking your brain with drugs. You sure have minimal respect for your body. Is there anything in life that you take care of?

    4. taking care of addiction can be all consuming. you see an addict walk through life, they're all about the next fix....might as well be sociopath or narcissist, right ?

so maybe if you see a recovering addict, most of their life is revolving around recovery. Err, i think that constitutes taking care of ones self.

      iow shut the fuckup.

Rich make sure dentist give you antibiotic before they do work.

  11. The marshmallow fog returned with a vengeance. It is cloying like perfume that old ladies wear or the smell of the perfume counter at Lord and Taylor. It feels like I went on a sugar binge and the sugar got into my veins and my lymph. Then, it went everywhere. I was almost petrified in sugar like petrified wood.

I think I like the fog. It hurts like melting would hurt.
I am getting lost in words because I don't want to tell you that the fog is all I have left of my former life. It is the tie to my family and when I let it go, I will be alone.

  17. There will be no voice acted version due to the fact that the original voice actors would be way too expensive and a fan version would destroy the immersion.

  18. actually provided image from the burial container on my apple iphone, the person getting that on the iphone 3gs experienced the actual message “missing plug-in”, with out graphic was connected. Just what connect is essential, and it is the item required own telephone, or maybe could it be something must have recently been dispatched with the picture?
