Here's the YouTube description:
Author of Confessions of a Sociopath M.E. Thomas talks with Christian Lance about whether or not a psychopath can be a good Christian and what that might mean, about how the psychopath thinks in very outcome oriented ways (to the point that it might be difficult for them to conceptualize how other people make choices in process oriented ways), about how psychopaths mask and evade detection by pretending to be what people expect of them, etc.
Good one
ReplyDeleteFascinating interview. Dispelling the myth of the sociopath with someone who is a faithful Christian. Not many people know that these two qualities can exist together. Thanks for posting
Delete“To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything and your heart will be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact you must give it to no one, not even an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket, safe, dark, motionless, airless, it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable. To love is to be vulnerable.” – C.S. Lewis
ReplyDeleteRichness lies on the other side of vulnerability, but one cannot imagine crossing that wild sea until one is lost in its storm, learning to swim. That is my story, at least.
Paul Scanlon absolutely nails it: love can be unconditional; relationships cannot.

Where is my tiny Sphinx these days? I miss that crazy cat.
ReplyDeleteI hadn't particularly dreamed of "success". I work hard because that's my nature. Seeing a "holy grail" within reaching distance is somewhat of a surprise, a by-product.
ReplyDeleteAt the core, I have dreams. I dream of impossible beauty. I tasted it and I want it again.
I want him.
Nothing else matters. I don't want any star unless I have all the stars. I loved him more than all the stars.
I'm greedy that way.
No one else matches him. Nothing comes close. That's the way it is.
